Sound familiar?

You've been pricing a trail bike everyone in the house can actually ride.

Something in the 140–250cc range. Manageable. Dependable. Not a toy, and not a bike that only one person in the house can ride. Big enough for an adult to enjoy on a Saturday, with a lower stance that helps a newer or shorter rider build confidence.

That bike is genuinely hard to find. So here's the simple version.

Why the SX-E15

A real dirt bike. Built low on purpose.

The SX-E15 is not a scaled-down toy. It is a purpose-built RFN off-road platform with a high-strength welded aluminum frame, adjustable suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, and a 34.6" seat with a 19"/16" wheel package.

That lower stance is the entire point. It's what makes a serious bike feel manageable in tight trees, on a rutted pasture, and to a rider who isn't six feet tall. Nothing was left off to get there.

And because it's electric, the part that usually kills the fun is gone: no clutch, no shifting, no jetting, no warm-up, no gas can. Twist and go, then plug it in.

What makes it the easy choice

Serious where it counts. Simple everywhere else.

Get the fit right

Same serious platform. Different fit.

Both bikes use the same 15 kW peak power platform. The practical choice comes down to rider fit, wheel size, and where you ride.

Lower, nimble fit

SX-E15

The one most families and trail riders should be looking at.

$5,499

  • 34.6" seat with 19"/16" wheels
  • A lower stance for riders who prefer more confidence at a stop
  • Tight trails, timber, pasture, backyard and track
  • 15 kW peak power, five ride modes
Taller-rider stance

SX-E15 Plus

The same bike, set up for a taller rider and more open ground.

$5,649

  • 36.2" seat with full-size 21"/18" wheels
  • A taller, full-size wheel setup for riders who prefer more room
  • Larger-wheel feel over open, faster terrain
  • Same core RFN foundation, same 15 kW peak power

Neither one is the budget version. They are two configurations of the same serious off-road platform. Compare the fit in person when you can. See the Plus →

One bike, more riders

The bike that actually gets used.

Ride it after work. Take it to the cabin. Let a newer rider make supervised laps on a lower-power setting, then return it to your preferred setup for the trail.

Most bikes end up belonging to one person. The adjustability on this one — ride modes and app tuning — helps it serve more than one rider without becoming a compromise.

Race-day capability

A family bike with a serious side.

The SX-E15 is built first for off-road recreation, but its 19"/16" wheel configuration, 15 kW peak output, adjustable suspension, and tuning options give experienced riders a capable platform for permitted closed-course riding.

Class eligibility, equipment requirements, and rider qualifications are determined by the event promoter and rulebook. Set the bike up for the rider and the event before entering.

Straight answers

Before you ask.

Is this big enough for an adult, or is it a kids' bike?

It is a serious off-road bike with 15 kW peak power, a 56 mph top speed, hydraulic disc brakes, adjustable suspension, and a 34.6" seat. The E15 is a lower 19"/16" configuration, so fit is the key question. A demo is the best way to decide whether it feels right for the rider.

Can my teenager ride it too?

That's one of the main reasons people buy this one. Power is limited through the ride modes and the RFN app, so you can hand it over in a low mode and open it up as they earn it. Fit matters more than age — they should be able to manage the bike's weight and reach the controls, wear proper gear, and be supervised until they've got real seat time.

How does it compare to a gas trail bike in the 140–250cc range?

Different ownership more than different capability. There's no clutch and no shifting, so a newer rider gets going faster. There's no gas, oil, filters, carb or warm-up routine, and it's quiet enough to ride around a property early or late. What you give up is the ability to top off from a gas can — you plug it in instead, 2–4 hours for roughly 50 miles of riding.

Bring your own bike to a demo and ride them back to back if you want to settle it properly.

What's the real difference between the E15 and the E15 Plus?

The key differences are seat height and wheel size. The E15 has a 34.6" seat with 19"/16" wheels; the Plus has a 36.2" seat with 21"/18" wheels. Both use the same 15 kW peak-power platform. Rider fit and the terrain you ride should guide the choice.

Where can I ride it?

Permitted off-road recreational riding only — private property, OHV areas and trails where off-road riding is allowed. It is not classified or equipped as a street-legal electric bicycle, moped or motorcycle. Follow your local land-use and riding regulations.

What happens if I need help after the sale?

Ride RFN support and replacement parts are based in Lehi, Utah. Warranty coverage is governed by the published RFN warranty, and participating dealers can help with local support where available.
